One More

Just thought I'd post another of Thad's book reports from earlier this year.  This was actually the first one he did - his teacher said he set the bar pretty high!  He's a pretty quiet kid so it's fun to see him get excited about these reports and showcase a little of his 'acting' skills.

For extra credit points, who can name the antique machine located to the right of 'Jamie'?  It belonged to Thad's great-grandpa and grandma, Sam and Anna Steffen.  It's something they used on a regular basis, and not as a plant stand (as I do).

Wow, how creative. Does he come up with these ideas on his own? I also watched his March Madness video and laughed and laughed!

The video isn't coming through for me this time. I've seen the video before though and it's worth trying to repost it, Shelley, if others are having trouble also.

It's coming through fine for me - I use a Mac, if that makes any difference. And it is a great way to do book reports - your boys are quite the actors! I plan to share with our elementary teachers to give them ideas.

The boys are great. Get this on a disc if you haven't already.
ALSO--I get the extra points--the appliance on the right is a CREAM SEPARATOR. Pour raw milk into the top container/turn the crank/the mechanism whirls extremely fast and separates out the cream. It's neat but outdated.

The boys are amazingly good actors at their age. Very creative, too.
Kathleen gets extra credit even tho Uncle Lynn beat it to her. She knew right away it was a cream separator. She had one in her house growing up.

Congratulations on the identification of the cream separator, assuming Shelley will confirm your guesses. I guess that makes you really smart, or kinda "old." (Couldn't resist that one.) Just to make sure you know that the latest video with Thad's interview of the lad in the wheelchair, that is Thad playing both parts. As his grandma, I can say, "Isn't he cute?"

Yes, it is a cream separator, and it makes a lovely plant stand!

Rhoda was sharper than I as she thought Thad was playing both parts. Not knowing the boys, I thought they were two boys, peas in a pod.
Can't believe that none of you young'uns recognize a cream separator. They were SOP on a farm in the "old days." Shelley let's have some closeups of your new old plant stand.
