Trip to California

We got back Monday night from a six-day trip to California, but with going back to school Tuesday morning (and facing six sets of tests to grade), this is my first opportunity to share some pics. on here.

We were in CA for a conference; here is the main reason we went (a picture posted on my personal blog). There are some other picture posts here and here if you are interested.

We left the Greenville/Spartanburg airport at 7 am, so when we arrived in Burbank it was only about 10 am. Therefore we had a long time that day to explore. We drove out to Ventura to see the Pacific. So beautiful.

We went to the Reagan library just like you did, Perry and Carol. This is the view from the front entrance. Those mountains have a beauty all their own.

This is our shot of Air Force One - just no Preston in the foreground!

Mike and me in front of Reagan's grave. It was really fun, six days later after returning to SC, to watch the Republican debate and think "We were just there less than a week ago!"

Fruit stands everywhere on the drive to Ventura. Huge boxes of oranges for $3 a box. I would have loved to have brought some home. Funny, Mike wasn't willing to pay $100 surcharges for baggage over 50 pounds.

Looks like you had wonderful weather and beautiful scenery. And a 6 day trip with no children must have been a mind-bender. Proof that your kids have left the nest. Until they come home the next weekend with laundry and hungry stomachs!
