Shooting Skeet

Mom and Dad went with us yesterday to the Bailes Thanksgiving, held each year at Mike's brother Steve's home in Spartanburg. We had a houseful - Steve's family is a "more the merrier" kind of group. One of the annual rituals is shooting skeet out in the large field behind their home. Guess who decided to try her hand at it!

Steve showing her how to point the gun. (One of their son-in-laws in the foreground.)
Reacting after the retort -

She looks like she might be "game" to try it again!

I admire people who try new things. Way to go, Aunt Mim.

How about that - isn't she a good sport? Did she hit the target?

The answer is "No, she didn't hit the clay pigeon." But on the positive side she doesn't have the sore shoulder that the naysayers said she would have! Sure I'd try it again but I'd prefer fewer in the audience. Joking aside, we had a great day with Steve, Ellen, etal.
Today Mary Lee and I went shopping while Lynn and Ann watched Auburn beat Alabama by one point. Mike was sleeping? because he had to go in to work tonight.
Shelley, I'm glad it was you and not I who spent the night in the stores! Casey keep the pics coming as we rejoice with you as the construction progresses.

Believe it or not--a 12 guage double barreled double powered springs, etc., shotgun is on order for an 81 year old lady. There could be no other way out of this enigma. What a Christmas present for an aggressive gun lover and big supporter of the NRA! Anyone with such good credentials deserves the best--I know you all agree with me.
Uncle Lynn
(These comments are sham! All day she wants me to check her shoulder for a bruise after pulling the trigger one time!!!!!!!!!!!
But it was FUN--even more so, FUNNY.)

Mom - I hope I have half your energy and adventuresome spirit when I'm 81! Jaimie will be proud of you!

Hmmm, just thought of a 3 or 4-year old niece, who will remain nameless, that walked through Mom and Dad's house one Christmas singing loudly, "Jingle Bells, Shotgun Shells, Granny's got a gun!" Who knew it would come true!
