Mom and Dad are kind of out of pocket for a few days so I'll fill in what I know and Ann can do even more so.
Yesterday Dad and Mom closed on their new home. Last night I asked Mom is she was excited and there was an emphatic "YES!"
Yesterday they complete carpet selection and today they will finish choosing paint colors. That work will be completed by the end of next week with an anticipated move date of November 9. Andrew's group will be singing in AL so that coupled with some other activities and the work going on in SC is keeping them in AL until then. The truck gets packed on Monday and unloads on Tuesday.
I will be going down on Tuesday getting in late Tuesday night to help for almost a week to get them settled. We will be looking at window covering material then.
Mark has done a lot of work to help them with the transaction, Ann has visited numerous properties, and Mike has driven them around a lot including today to look for furniture and is helping schedule painters, etc.
This is probably way more detail than you wanted. If they don't post pictures before I go down I'll take some after they've moved in and post them.
Oops--complted in the third paragraph, and I should have added that I'm very excited to get to see the new house as I've seen only a picture of the front and a pic of the side as well as a 360 degree from the front of the house on Google Maps.
Sounds very exciting, and I'm happy for them that things are moving along. It may take a while to get settled, but I'm sure it is a big relief to them to know where and when they will be going. Now prayers to sell the AL house will be needed, I suppose.
Judy, thank you for your kind words. With such great technology, I don't feel so far away! Have talked to Dad & Mom once or twice a day - they sound very energized. They returned to AL this afternoon and may be able to post after their church service. Thanks for checking up on them!
Thanks for your interest. We're almost on the way with the house purchase completed. Now we are back in Decatur as painters et al give the house a new look and I wonder from here what is happening there. We didn't really want a bright red and bright blue guest room that had a race car and a semi painted on the wall. The truck might have stayed had it had WalMart painted on the side! In less than two weeks we should be fairly settled as our moving date is November 8. Much to do until then and much of it tugs at the heart strings. Since we will still be in the South, y'all come is still appropriate!
