In case you've seen the news in the last hour or so -- the Metro train crash in Washington DC on the Red Line is the train we rode on about everyday we were in DC. Fort Totten was about the second stop on our route. The picture of one train on top of the other is unbelievable!

I always took the red line the other direction but rode it daily when I visited DC. News like this is even more noteworthy when you are familiar with the area.
