DQ

Judy's earlier post that included taking five grandchildren to DQ reminded me of the days when we would travel to Illinois. Six of us would be packed into a station wagon and then later a Suburban. We learned that when travelling and Dad would point to the right and say "Look over there" that we should look to the left because there would be a Dairy Queen!

Don't know if I was already out of the house or what - but Rhoda remembers all kinds of things about our childhood that I don't. :-)

I am not saying anyone is old; I'm just saying that I must be that much closer to our childhood to remember such things.

However, I also know that Dad has been known to do this in recent years as well!!!

Speaking of grand kids and ice cream...I remember one time Drake, Jason and I were staying with Grandma K. We were probably in upper grade school. She took us to the ice cream place on 24 where Casey's business is now. We looked at the menu and all said we wanted banana splits. She told us they were too big and we'd never be able to eat them. But we insisted, and you know how grandmas are. They get you what you want. Well, guess what happened? We each ate about a 1/3 of our banana split and were full. You can probably all imagine how that went over with Grandma. :)
