Appendicitis!

I just wanted to let everyone know that my mom is having an appendectomy this afternoon.  She had abdominal pain through the night which only got worse until they finally went to the ER this mid-morning.  When I talked to her around 2pm, they had her pain under control and she was awaiting surgery.  We're now waiting to hear the post surgery report.... I'm sure she and Dad would appreciate your prayers!

...the picture is from last fall with Alice, Timon, and Jesse :)

Just came in from the kitchen from working with my good husband to get ready for dinner tomorrow for Bailes and Mark's.
Surprised to read how Carol will be spending her Mother's Day. I am praying for her and will await the post surgery report. Carol, make the most of a few days off and let the others wait on you! You've earned it!

Oh my goodness! I'm so glad you let us know, Maria.

I just got interrupted here with a phone call from Perry saying she's awake, groggy, and doing ok, and should go home tomorrow morning. So that's good news and we will certainly pray for her quick recovery.

Perry, if you read this - now it's your turn to "baby" her and help her with the household chores for at least a week or so.

Take care, Carol, and know that you are thought about and prayed for by many!

Just read this later in the evening. Praying Carol is resting well and that the recovery goes well.

Glad to hear that you are recovering from this unexpected, but successful, surgery. Ada has offered good advice to Perry and Preston. We'll be thinking of you all.

Thank you for your prayers and well wishes. I am thankful to be home again and done with the pain ordeal prior to the hospital visit. All went well and I am thankful for the excellent care at the hospital. St. James in Pontiac is a beautiful facility and since they are not busy, I don't think I ever waited more than a minute afer calling the nurse. They were so attentive to me, I felt spoiled. The PA who was with the surgeon during the surgery told me it was a "flawless" surgery. She is Leslie Romersberger, married to Nathan. I enjoyed visiting with her this morning. They are expecting their first child in October.

Oops, I'm sorry I didn't sign my name on the last comment. ---Carol

It is Sunday evening. Charity brought our supper, and it was delicious. Carol is doing quite well. I picked her up at the hospital at 10 this morning (Sunday), and we drove home. I cleaned up, ate lunch, and attended afternoon church. She had a nap. She is doing well, but her stomach is kind of mildly sore, but only when she gets up our of a chair, etc. The P. A. (physician's asst.) said the procedure in the surgery room went flawlessly.

I am sorry, I didn't realize Carol had mentioned the "flawless" comment. But, listen to this: the radiologist who read her cat scan was located in Australia. They emailed the film to him, and he emailed back that the appendix needed extraction. Truly an ATT or All Time Tidbit!!
