We heard early this morning about a fire that was burning 6 businesses in downtown Minonk. When Jerry got home from getting Nathan to the bus, we headed up there to see what was going on. These were old original buildings in Minonk and will probably all have to be razed. In this bottom picture, the building to the left of the burned out space is our dentist's office. Jerry has an appointment there next week - we heard that it did not burn but was damaged heavily with water and smoke. Lot of people watching and taking pictures. Just so sad to see those burned out buildings and knowing most of the people who had businesses in them.

Very sad to see that happen. It will be a blow to the entire town, won't it.
So sad to see such old buildings being destroyed. Hopefully these businesses will be able to survive in a temporary location and then rebuild.
We saw a lot of it on TV tonight.
I wonder if Morton Fire Dept. was there. We heard l25 fireman helped put the fire out. We saw a lot of Minonk people on TV. They are really sad. Quite a loss!!!
Life as we know it is on a day-to-day basis. One never knows how things could change.
