Steffen Update

I haven't posted in awhile so I thought I'd give a quick update on happenings in our family. The summer seems to have flown right by us. June was filled with baseball activities and July was just hanging out at the local swimming pool, playing outside a lot, and general summertime activities. Now we're back into the school year schedule and activities. Keeps me busy!

We took a vacation to Michigan City, IN right before school started. We went there last year and enjoyed it so much we rented the same house again this time. It's the perfect place for us -- just a short drive and plenty of things to entertain the little boys... digging in the sand, fishing, kayaking, playgrounds, and Lake Michigan of course. The weather was beautiful most of the time. Mom and Dad came up for 2 days and of course those were the only 2 days that were overcast, cool, and rainy. We still enjoyed spending time with them. Here are a few pictures of our trip:

Playing on the beach in front of our house

At Lake Michigan, posing nice for Mom
And then back to reality
The older boys spent a lot of time playing Monopoly

Can't wait until next year!

It was a fun overnight even though the weather wasn't sunny. I can look at that last picture, and just looking at their jeans, I can see their personalities and their individual quirks. Never a dull moment with this bunch!

I love to see parents making precious memories for their children and for themselves. Looks like the kids had a wonderful time, and I especially like the "backside" picture.

Very cute pictures. It looks like a great time. I'm interested as to how the personalities are shown in the jeans!

OK...here goes:
On the far left is Joe - pants rolled up high as he surely can't get his clothes wet!
On the far right is Ben - Pants are rolled and the waist pulled up high - it must feel just right for Ben's comfort.
The tall one next to Ben is Will - he's good as long as he looks "cool."
And next to him on the left is Nate - his pant legs are dragging and already wet - who cares?
And last is Thad, second from the left. He's the quiet one who will most likely roll with the flow - as long as everybody's happy - he's good.

Be sure to click on the pictures for a better look.

The tallest one is not to the "cool" age yet? If not, he looks close! You just wait!

Good-looking kids and great comments too.

Shelley - Our former youth pastor's wife just found out she is expecting her fifth boy - I sent her a link to this post so she will see what life will be like in a few years! (Her oldest is seven.)
