HOARDERS #2

You have some neat pics and thoughts about stashing stuff away. Mim and I have lived in this home for nearly 41 years and we are practically wall to wall with "we might need it in the future!"
About 4-5 years ago our single car garage was so full we bought a backyard 10x20 building and cleaned out everything in the garage. End of the story: today the garage is full again--and the building, too!!! Pray tell where does all the stuff come from? Mim thinks we should buy another building inasmuch as some homeowners in the area have 2-3-4 backyard buildings. Advice needed.

Fun blog-reading day! Love all the pics and comments. When we moved into our condo, we were fairly well pared down on "junk." Now Dave's frequent lament is, "Quit dragging more stuff into the house!" Just remember, UL and AM, everything you bring in, somebody, someday will have to drag out!

And the "somebody" that will have to dispose of all that stuff is your children -- do you really want them to see it? I don't think I do - so we are leaving some treasures, but really trying to pare down.

I say move--it's a great way to get stuff cleaned out. Remember I never cleaned out a drawer or closet for 5 years--I just moved instead.

Do NOT buy another outbuilding! Simplify! Check out www.messies.com Sandra Felton has great articles and advice on why we keep too much stuff.

Had a pastor who used to refer to your issue as the "Stuff Hut" syndrome. He would say, "In America we have so much stuff in our hut that we have to go by a hut for our stuff." What all do you have in your "Stuff Hut"?

That preacher has it right!

The internet would not have sufficient space for me to list the "stuff" accumulated over nearly 53 years of marriage!

We will dispose before buying another stuff hut.
