Saturday afternoon in west Michigan and the weather doesn't seem to know what to do. It rains for awhile and then the sun shines. I want to go out and dig potatoes while our first batch of salsa is simmering.
This morning we picked more tomatoes, peppers, corn, and onions to make the salsa. We picked more beans as well.
Monday is the beginning of the Hudsonville fair. For the first time in my life I'm planning on entering several items in the competition. At best we win $4 an item and at worst we took a few things to the fair and people go through the exhibit and feel sorry for the item that doesn't have a ribbon on it.
And if you're wondering: two more weeks for the chickens.

Good luck at the fair! Sounds like you've had a successful garden this summer, even with the cool weather. Taking any chickens to the fair?
