We had a nice relaxing 4th of July. Retta and I got up around 11:00, straightened the house then spent most of the afternoon in the pool with the kids and two friends of the kids. After eating ordered in pizza, Retta and the kids played cards for a couple hours while I napped through the first half of the Nascar race. Then, it was off to the gas station for a amature fireworks show. That's right, the gas station. We have some good friends that own a convenient store up the road from our house (it's their kids in the pool pics with our kids) and they had purchased some pretty good fireworks that resulted in about a 20 minute display.

Got the pool looking pretty good! We didn't need it today as it rained all day long.
Our 4th was lazy also, but our pool doesn't look so good - the pump has broken, and due to the holiday Mike can't take it to get it fixed until tomorrow. It's looked so good up until now, and I hope this doesn't get the chemistry messed up.
Sounds like a nice lazy day. Our plans were scratched due to the rain. Were planning to go to the park for a picnic, then back here to build a fire outside and roast marshmellows before fireworks. We ended up moving the picnic inside and roasting marshmellows in the fireplace instead. Believe it or not the fire felt great on such a cold and yucky July night. We were able to see fireworks out our front window in Chenoa and out our back windows in Towanda.
We, too, had a lazy 4th. Heather worked, and Kelsie is away at Work Camp, so the rest of us just lounged around. I made stroganoff for dinner (which is very un-forth-of-July-like), and then we watched a movie. At the end of the day, mom and dad came down and parked in our driveway where we all watched Normal's fireworks. We didn't get quite the same effect being so far away, but was still enjoyable.
Isn't it amazing how just doing "nothing" can be so nice.
