Another Summer Project

We've got a big project going too. Out in back, by the screened in porch, is a small spot of ground, inside the fence, that has been difficult to mow. So yesterday Mike took up the sod with a sodcutter (he is moving that to the front to patch some bare spots with the good centipede grass) and today is filling in the area with good black dirt. Then he'll cover it with pine needles. Over time we plan to make it into a butterfly garden, complete with a birdbath, bench, and birdfeeders. But as far as he is concerned, the first objective is completed - he won't have to get the push mower in there! The landscaper and his daughter - who is 18 today.

Way to go - keep that man busy! Happy Birthday to Mary Lee. And what're you doing, Ann? Sitting and sipping iced tea and watching?

Happy 18th birthday Mary Lee!

Today is also Erin and Bonnie's birthday. Erin is 23 and has the summer off from teaching. Bonnie is 21 and has an internship at St. Joe's Hospital in Bloomington for the summer. She is in Nursing at U of I.

I had forgotten that Erin and Bonnie had the same birthday as Mary Lee. Happy Birthday to them also!

The Landscaper just finished spreading dirt and pine needles. He's working hard but having a great time at it--

And yes, I'm sitting and sipping tea. :-) He'd rather do it alone anyway. I'm also looking at blogs on the laptop and trying to get up enough energy to do some listing on eBay.

Whenever I ask Dave if he needs help on something he is working on, he always says, "Yes, go stand out of the way!" I happily oblige!
