As we sat listening to one of the speeches, I thought that this song from Steve Green would have been appropriate.
Find Us Faithful - Steve Green (People Need The Lord)
We're pilgrims on the journey
Of the narrow road
And those who've gone before us line the way
Cheering on the faithful, encouraging the weary
Their lives a stirring testament to God's sustaining grace
Surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses
Let us run the race not only for the prize
But as those who've gone before us
Let us leave to those behind us
The heritage of faithfulness passed on through godly lives
Chorus:
Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful
May the fire of our devotion light their way
May the footprints that we leave
Lead them to believe
And the lives we live inspire them to obey
Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful
After all our hopes and dreams have come and gone
And our children sift though all we've left behind
May the clues that they discover and the memories they uncover
Become the light that leads them to the road we each must find
Repeat Chorus
I guess I think a lot about the future generations after we've come and gone, and it inspires me to leave a footprint they can follow. Anyway, it was a fun weekend!

Good comments, Mary. Kathleen and I are surely curious about more reunion details. Was the 96 year-old present -- with a speech, too? Someone describe Ada and grandboys' skit. Was Uncle Perry able to keep his talk within the 10 minutes? I know he was both thrilled and anxious to be a speaker. Sorry to hear about Aunt Alice taking ill. I was in the Army directly with John Klopfenstein (Leo-Grabill furniture owner and Innkeeper). I heard he worked very hard as a co-host. Any pictures will be appreciated. Cleve & Kathleen
Yes, the 96-year-old lady was present and gave a short speech about how she became a Klopfenstein. I didn't meet her but she was there when Mom and Dad arrived at the hotel and they had a good visit. I suppose they can comment more. Sorry; our camera was broken so we were unable to take pix. Rhoda did and others too.
Aunt Ada and the boys had an excellent skit . . . it held everyone's attention and gave good information. They all had good inflection and showed excellent acting ability! Uncle Perry also did a great job . . . and yes, I believe stayed within his time limit!
Aunt Alice, are you feeling better? Sorry we weren't able to visit with you and Uncle Keith more.
Oh, Cleve, John Klopfenstein's sister remembered you and Perry visiting Leo years ago. John and family worked very hard as did Lynn and Chris Klop and their daughters-in-law. They had true servant's hearts and were a blessing to all with the good meal they both prepared and served.
I can't NOT thank my parents too for all their hard work! Dad could hardly talk when it was all over b/c he had spoken with so many people for 2 days straight!
