A rose is a rose is a. . .

Since we've had a lot of gardening posts, maybe somebody can help me. When we moved to this house in 2000, this rosebush was putting out large yellow roses with pinkish tips. I think it was a "Peace" rosebush. I confess to not taking very good care of it over the years. Well, here is what it is doing now. The top is putting out solid yellow tea roses, not very big, and the bottom is putting out these pink flowers which do not look anything like the yellow roses in shape. Any ideas as to what might have happened? Have you ever seen anything like this?

Well, in my expertize as a rose grower -- I would say that the yellow rose with the pink edges was a cross between a yellow rose and a pink rose - and now many years later the original breeds have come back to life. Now isn't that good for a laugh if nothing else??

Actually I bought a beautiful yellow rose plant with pink edges a couple years ago, but it never came back the second year!
