Here is a photo of, at the time, some of the surviving children and spouses of the 14 children of Peter and Sophia Klopfenstein. It would be a good exercise for all us grandchildren and great-grandchildren, etc. to learn to identify these relatives by name and their spouse. I'd like to challenge Uncle Lynn or any of the "children" of these people to give an approximate date of the photo, then identify them by name, (left to right), who their spouse was, and with any short facts about them. Even I must ashamedly admit that I can only name 9 of the 11 in the picture. Remember, you can enlarge the photo on your screen by clicking on the picture.

Well, Cleve - looks like you were up late last night. Actually the people in the picture are easy to identify and look mostly the way I think of them. Back row is Uncle Chuck, Aunt Minnie (Uncle Lee's wife), Uncle Fred (lived in Champaign, wintered in Florida and drove a Cadillac), Uncle Bill (youngest of the uncles lived in Morton, was it's mayor for a time), my mother Anna, Aunt Setta (wife of Uncle Joe who ran a hardware store/gas pump in downtown Gridley and was the Elder of our church - I used to stay at their a lot), Front row, Aunt Ann (was very sweet and lived in Pontiac - her husband worked at the Pontiac prison), Aunt Minerva (always a happy person and very sweet), Aunt Ida (lived in Saunemin), Aunt Aldine (Uncle Bill's wife) and Aunt Emma (Uncle Harry - they lived Fairbury, he had a Ford dealership, they had no children). I believe the picture to be in the mid-50's and was taken at a sportsman's club near Mahomet on a Labor Day reunion that was hosted by Uncle Fred's family.
question - why do so many of you post as anonymous?
Correction -- the picture was in the mid-60's (not 50's).

Thanks for the quick compliance with identification. We all need to know these loved ones. I did not know Aunt Minnie or Aunt Emma's name. That's sad.
1. Some post Anonymous because we don't know how to get our names shown instead. If we sign our actual post, at least we are identified. How do you get you name posted in BLUE ink?
2. The Blog is posted Eastern Time, 1 hour later than Central. So we're not all up as late as it may appear.
3. True, the "stupid letters" are sometimes hard to type in, but is necessary and it takes perseverance.

To get your blue name to show - just don't do anything but type the message. Notice that the circle by "google/blogger" has a dot in it, so it knows who youare and your name will appear. hmmm... I've got a weird set of letters again, can't tell it it's a g or a q but here goes . .
That looks just like Aunt Setta as I remember her!
I recognized Ann, Uncle Fred (we usually stopped in Champaign to see him on our trips back to AL and I remember kissing him and his rough cheek from whiskers), Grandma K. and Aunt Setta. I'm surprised I didn't recognize Aunt Minerva or Uncle Bill since I knew them more.
One of my few memories of Aunt Setta was that I pulled a tooth in her living room and lost it when it came out. I was afraid the tooth fairy wouldn't come if I didn't have the tooth.
