Good friend passes away

S. M. (Mac) McAllister is "absent from the body and present with the Lord." Mac and Jeanette have been friends of ours since late 1974 when they joined the newly formed Christian Radio team in Decatur, AL. They were at our 50th wedding anniversary and through the years some of our Klopfenstein family members have met them. They were and are fine Christian friends. Son, Dale, lives near Cincinnati, OH, and Bruce, lives in Greenville, SC. He is faculty member at Bob Jones University.

Mac was 82 and in failing health for a couple of years. Pray for Jeanette and the boys. So--with the passing of Brother Ralph and now Friend Mac, Mim and I have significant holes in our lives. But this is where a meaningful faith in the Lord really "kicks in" for the support needed in spirit.

Moreover, I think the family blog is one of the better things since sliced bread. This mode of communication is simply neat for unification of our family. You all keep up the good work. It is a form of "family payday." Thank you for the variety of entries!!!

Sorry to hear about that. I know they were very dear friends to you and you will miss him very much. We met him briefly on several occasions and he was very friendly to us. -- Ada

It also needs to be mentioned - Mr. Mac was the one who got Dad interested in genealogy. He was a very kind man, a World War II vet, and he will be missed.
