A Treasure

Does anyone recall this memento that I retrieved from Mom's apartment at Mercy Creek? I always had my eye on it because it brought back memories of my childhood. Who has any stories to tell about this pretty little thing? I don't even know what to call it: a jewelry box, a knick-knack, a candy dish? Where did it originate from? What was kept in it years ago?

Anyway, I love it!

It IS beautiful, and looks kinda familiar, but I don't know where it came from. Perhaps someone else will recognize it.

Didn't that used to be in Grandma K's living room?

Yes, Ann, it was in Grandma's living room on one of her end tables in her little house. I don't remember if it had candy in it or if it was just a decoration. Does anyone know where she kept it in the big house? I always liked it and it was apparently one of the things my mom and dad chose from Grandma's possessions.

I remember this in Grandma's living room as well. I was going to say candy dish but maybe there wasn't anything in it.

I was in Grandma's house a lot and have absolutely no recollection whatsoever of this little ornament.

I do not remember it in her old house but it was definitely in her living room in the newer house. And I don't think it had candy in it because it was too small, and she had bigger dishes in there also. (As kids we were pretty routine about checking out the candy in her living room. Most of the time it was stuff we didn't like, but it seems like occasionally there were M&Ms.)
