Time for a new post....keeping with the running theme...

Dad was "ahead of his time" with his jogging habits and staying in shape, long before it became fashionable.  Here's a unique photo of him in Peoria running the Steamboat Classic with 2 other generations.  He  ran this race in June of 1998.  Motive?  Just for personal satisfaction, to stay in shape, and with a goal of "finishing".  He participated in this event for nearly 25 consecutive years, driving over early in the morning from Gridley (or wherever they lived at the time)!

Cleve--does Aaron still run? How about yourself?

I'm back at the gym, mainly on the elliptical due to knee issues, to get in shape to go to China. Andrew says I've got to be able to climb five sets of stairs (no elevator!!) to his classroom--and also be able to walk the Great Wall!!

Those are great motivational reasons for you to ellipticalize.
I've been running 25-30 min. on treadmill 4 times weekly since January 1. Aaron stays in shape, as does Kara! Easy to fall back, however!

I'm pretty sure Grandpa crossed the finish line in his red socks! He always that was an easier way to spot a runner because everyone else wears white socks.
