Perry II, Carter and I just returned from a five day trip to Oregon.  We spent two nights at the beach at a cabin called Restless Surf at Yachats, OR.  We didn't go to any zoos or aquariums.  We saw the sea lions in the wild and the starfish as well.  There is a bay at Newport where the fishing boats bring in their catch.  The sea lions hang around on the docks because they can eat the "leftovers."  At the beach, it is sort of like being in a different world.  I love it! ----Carol

Carol, you are right, the beach is like being in a different world. The west coast beaches are very different from the east coast ones, but both have their own unique beauty. Glad you had a good trip. How is your mother doing?

Great pictures. Looks like you had a wonderful time. I've never been to Oregon and I'm hinting to Jerry that we should go there sometime. . .

I would encourage you! If you go, make reservations at Inn at Spanish Head just south of Lincoln City. From there you can take day outings to explore the coast. It's gorgeous!---Carol

We drove along the Oregon coast with our family years ago. We spent one night sleeping right on the beach...well, the kids slept in a tent on the beach and Dave and I slept in our van. The next night we stayed at Restless Surf where Carol and her family were last week. I would love to go back and spend more time, as the pictures show that there is a lot to explore!
