Well, we had our own weather excitement this afternoon. A huge thunderstorm rolled in about 3:30 (interrupted my nap!) and as I got up a little after 4:00, noticed it was really, really dark. Next thing our neighbor called and asked if the tornado had hit us! Apparently a tornado cloud bounced right over our home - there is damage three houses in each direction from us where a funnel came down but then went back up. The intersection near us was mentioned on the Weather Channel. We have debris in our yard from the nearby houses, but are very thankful to God that we were not hurt or damaged.
Don't know if you can really tell - but trees down on the left, and the center downed tree is on the roof of the house. This is three houses in one direction from us.
Sorry - picture taken out of a moving car. :-)
But - coming out of church tonight - a beautiful rainbow!

Just got home from a delicious dinner at Bernardi's in Pontiac and read this post. How scary that must've been - although it sounds like you sort of slept through it! Seeing the aftermath would still be scary. Glad no one was hurt.
I did hear on the weather channel there was a tornado reported in Anderson, S.C. So glad it did not hit you directly.
We had a bad thunderstorm Friday afternoon. I was taking a nap and heard wind and rain and a bad gust of wind that really scared me. A large limb broke off our maple tree in the front yard. Another HUGE limb from our next door neighbor blew down and most of it was in our back yard. We had a tree service come Sat. and cleaned up our tree and most of the part of the neighbors tree in our yard.
She (our neighbor) would not let them clean up her yard. She said some men from her church would come and clean it up. I have a feeling the job is way too much for them. We too are thankful we were spared a tornado.
Dave spent Saturday morning helping Jake clean up their yard of limbs also. It's been quite a weather pattern across the country. God is sovereign, but I think we all agree...enough already!
And today the sun is shining and the birds are singing---just beautiful. I hope it stays that way for a while. Thankful Ann's house was spared!
Our street was on the news today on a couple of channels and the traffic up and down was more than I've ever seen. Our two seconds of fame!
Not the kind of fame one wants very often. 3 professional tornado-chasers were killed over the weekend. Glad your situation was not any worse and thanks for the photos and update.
