Perry and Carol, I was wondering how the home repairs from the fire have come along. Is the project completed yet? Your experience has given me a healthy new respect for candles and what damage they can do very quickly!
I have friends here who the husband is an inspector for State Farm looking at claims. He will not allow any candles in their home because of the fire damage he has seen. I haven't gone that far, but his stories and this fire certainly make me more cautious about candles.
Perry II took off the blackened ceiling and wall. He then put up new drywall. Preston scraped all the wallpaper off the remaining walls. Glenn has completed the taping and drywall finishing and Preston has painted everything with primer. That is all that's been done so far. All I've done is scrub doors, woodwork and the linen closet. We can still use the bathroom, so we are pretty patient about its completion.
