Jodie is still sore today and some bruises are beginning to show. She is trying to rest as much as possible and I am glad that I could take a few days off to be around for her.
Thank you all for your posts, prayers and concern. It is really heartening to know so many of you care about us and to read your words of comfort.
I met with the adjuster at the tow yard where our car was deposited after the crash. She explained what goes into repairing the car and what is considered if the car is to be a total loss. As it turned out the car was a total loss -- she stopped adding the numbers when she came to a damage total of $13,600. She hadn't made it to the rear interior since the wagon hatch couldn't be opened to view it so we assume that the actual total was well above that!
We will definitely be shopping for another Volvo!

So sorry to hear of the accident, etc. but glad you are on the mend.
Volvo's do have good safety records, we hear. It would be interesting to eventually hear if "just wasn't paying attention" means he was texting or cell-calling during the accident???
Anyway, take it easy and know that we are praying for a fast and full recovery for you, Dave, and Emma, too.
We understand the trauma of a car accident and the immense relief when those we love are okay. Jodie, we're very thankful that you experienced no major injury and pray for relief of the bruises and sores. Take care and hope you can get some good rest.
We are glad you are improving, Jodie! It seems we never know what is just around the next corner. I'm glad you can get a new car and not have to wait on the fixing up of the damaged one.
