On the train to Kansas City and back, I've been reading Mansfield Park, by Jane Austen. I'm over half done and I'm enjoying it. I've read Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice and this one is similar in terms of the English culture of the 1800's.
I'm currently reading Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah. Great book so far, about two friends who grew up in the 70s. Before that, I read A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick. A good, but kinda dirty and weird book. Before that, I read First Comes Love by Marion Winik, a totally wild and crazy true story. On April 6, the next Beverly Lewis book will come out, and I always buy and read her stuff. The next book is a continuation of a series I've already started, and look forward to completing. Beverly Lewis and Marion Winik are such different people, but I like to read all kinds of stuff.
I also read The Secret and The Missing by Beverly Lewis. I too am waiting for the third book in that series. I have a LOT of her books. I just finished The Crown and the Crucible by Michael Phillips and Judith Pella. I am now starting A House Divided---the second book in the series "The Russians.
I have read all the Beverly Lewis books and just yesterday bought the latest in the current series -The Longing- at Walmart. When finished, I pass them on to Cleve's mom who loves Beverly Lewis novels and stories about the Amish. One of the best books I've read lately is Let God Be God by Ray Stedman. It is about Job and why bad things/trials happen to good people. I also like Francine Rivers' books and have read all of them except the lastest one that is just out.
