Haiti-bound!

Family: Pray for me - I am off to Haiti on Friday morning to serve on a medical team with ACWR (Apostolic Christian World Relief)! Pray for our emotional & spiritual safety, physical safety, and for healing for the Haitian people. Mom & Dad might be receiving email updates from our team, so hopefully they can keep you updated on the things we are seeing and doing.

It's wonderful that you are willing to go to Haiti! We surely will be praying for your safety and that you won't get sick. We will be anxious to hear all about it when you come home.

I'm jealous! We wish we could go help! Crystal, what a wonderful opportunity and please know that we will pray for you. Our oldest is looking at going down with a group from her church fellowship as well. Hope your parents keep us updated as to how and what you're doing.

We have been wondering if you might go to Haiti and we will be praying for you and hope you stay safe. We have also wondered if any of our work areas in Haiti were affected?

To answer Aunt Ada's question, our work areas were not affected as badly with structural damage. They are about 120 miles from the epi-center which was in the Port au Prince area. They did have power and generator failure, but no injuries. However, they are now being inundatged with many, many badly injured, hungry, and homeless Hatians who are migrating away from Port au Prince. Crystal can elaborate more on this sooner or later.

Crystal, I'm glad you can go. Stay healthy and be careful! I wish I could go, but I'd be afraid of getting sick. God bless you!

What a great opportunity Crystal. In the updates I've received from various organizations I think that I wish I could just pack up and go. It's great you have the medical skills which are so useful right now. I will be praying for you and your team.

This news made my day--a niece able and willing to use her skills for the physically, socially, politically, and most of all spiritually needy in Haiti. We will be eagerly watching the blog for any update as we pray for you.
