GRAND OLE OPRY

Our Valentine treat - the Grand Ole Opry - great music!
Anybody recognize the main performer in this picture?

How about this guy?

The guy in the second picture looks like Bob Barker, or Ralph Klopfenstein, but I don't think either one could sing. Looks like you had a great time!

Glad you had a good time in Florida.
Apparently the GOP is still going strong in Nashville. Nice you could stop in and get tickets!
The first picture, I'd say, is Little Jimmy Dickens. And the second is Charlie Daniels???? No?Ray Pillow? Porter Waggoner?

How can you tell anything about them? I can barely tell that anyone is even singing onstage.

Little Jimmy Dickens for sure. Isn't Porter Waggoner dead? My vote for the second photo is Mel Tillis.

Little Jimmy Dickens is correct - and he can still belt out a good song at 89 yrs of age. The other singer is Mel Tellis. I know they're hard to see, but the larger screen in the background is somewhat visible, though blurry. The show consisted of 4 half-hour shows which were being recorded for radio complete with commercials read by a deep-voiced man. There was a different "host" for each half-hour and Jimmy and Mel were two of the hosts.
