Facebook

What does this say about me?

My mom is on Facebook and I am not.

Scary, huh?

FYI:
Yes, a number of people have asked me to be on Facebook and I responded positively. From there on I am in limbo. Renea Bishop tried to explain Facebook to me last night. Retta gave me intructions about how easy it is. My conclusion is that I was born too many (how many?) years to soon for all this new electronic capability. I already spend too much time on the computer with the internet (sure do love the EJK and other blogs),word processing, and e-mails. Maybe I have a built in mental resistance.

I tend to agree with you, but I keep "plugging away" on Facebook. Can't really say that I find it too fascinating.

I've always wavered on the Facebook issue. It would be a very nice way to get in touch with old friends. However, as a teacher, I've seen other teachers who love to do Facebook and get very chummy with students, in a way that I think is not good. I wouldn't want to be in a position to reject students' friend requests and so have just avoided the whole area of social networking.

As the father of 2 teenagers and one about to be teenager (wow, am I really that old?) I have found Facebook a wonderful way to keep up with what's going on with my kids friends. Also, being away from Illinois we've been able to keep up with some Illinois friends via facebook. Retta has recently made fun of me for having so many teenage friends on facebook.

It has also proven to be a great faith witness tool. I've had the opportunity to share some with some of my coworkers who are my facebook friends. They've seen a post about and asked about it and it has opened doors to talk about things that wouldn't normally come up in a work conversation.

I do have to admit, my facebook addition is one of the reason's I haven't posted as much (or at all lately) on the blog. A post is coming soon, I promise. EDK

I agree about the pros and cons of facebooking. I opened an account but I keep it deactivated. Ann's terms "very chummy" and "not good" and Eric's term "addiction" pretty much sums up my reasons.

P.S. does anyone know who to get rid of that &amp? It's so annoying!

Oh, we don't mind a little electricity from the Hohulins! (sorry, really bad pun)

Cathy, I had to change our display name from the "&" to a "-" to make it go away. EDK
