Courage

From Rock Climbing

We joined a new health club a couple of months ago and tried the rock climbing wall for the first time today. Owen easily took the family-best climb. We talked afterwards whether it was worn-out muscles or frayed nerves that prevented us from going higher. For Michelle, Grace, and me it was a combination. For Owen? Neither. The hand holds got to be too far apart. If he could reach them he would have gone higher.

Way to go Owen!

I've got to admit I never "got" climbing walls. It's one thing to go rock climbing in the wild because hopefully you get to the top with a great view, but with a climbing wall you get to the top and well you've gotten to the top. Obviously I'm in the minority since climbing walls are so popular.

Let us know when he grows some more to reach the higher grips and makes it to the top. And the same goes for you, Michelle, and Grace--maybe a family picture of everyone at the top???

That's my Grandson!! Good job Owen! It's good I wasn't there, though, because I would've been scared just watching it.

OK - all you parents. Let's have some more pictures or videos of your kids (or "children" if you prefer). It would be interesting to see the various activities they all participate in.
